Wales Untold: A British History of People & Power Told From South Wales

Wales Untold is a powerful, community-driven documentary that uncovers the hidden layers of Welsh and British history, told through the lens of people, industry, and power.   Produced by Urban Circle Productions and BlackNine Films, and made possible by the Heritage Lottery Fund, this inspiring project supported nine young people from Newport, Wales in learning the craft of documentary filmmaking, while uncovering stories too often left out of the history books.   At its heart, Wales Untold brings to light the overlooked African presence and the crucial contributions of Black labour to Wales’s industrial past, from the docks and steelworks to the deeper threads of community and identity woven into the nation’s social fabric.   This is more than a film, it’s a fresh, youth-led perspective on global history, exploring how ordinary people shaped a country, and how their legacy continues to echo today.    Watch, share, and be part of the conversation!
